The Ultimate Sushi Experience
My 15-year journey as a sushi chef began in Las Vegas, where I developed my skills in luxury hotels and off-strip restaurants, culminating in mastering omakase under Japanese-trained kaiseki chefs at Sakae in Burlingame.
My greatest achievement was becoming a sushi chef at world-renowned leader in Japanese cuisinse-Nobu, where I honed my skills and thrived on guest interaction, but the pandemic’s restrictions limited this rewarding aspect of my role.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, a growing demand for personal chefs emerged. With restaurants closed or operating at limited capacity, many people sought more personalized, at-home dining experiences. This trend was driven by a desire for high-quality meals in the safety and comfort of their homes, as well as the need for smaller, intimate gatherings due to social distancing guidelines. Recognizing this shift, I began bringing the sushi experience directly to clients’ homes—offering live, interactive sushi events that transformed each gathering into a unique and memorable dining experience.
Through this journey, I discovered my ikigai—a Japanese concept that refers to finding purpose through what you love, what the world needs, and what you excel at. Sharing my expertise in clients’ homes has been incredibly rewarding. Crafting unique sushi experiences tailored to each event allows me to express my passion in a way that feels deeply fulfilling.
Before each event, I work closely with my clients to customize the menu and set the tone—whether it’s a stand-up buffet, a multi-course dinner, or a family-style feast. Together, we create a dining experience full of delicious, unforgettable moments that perfectly suit each gathering.
